Purchasing a cookware set is probably the best way to get the most cookware for your money. Sets will come in various configurations but generally consist of 1 stockpot, 1-2 saucepans, 1-2 fry pans, and possibly a saute pan. When purchasing a set bear in mind that the lids count has 1 piece. So if you are purchasing a 7 piece set you probably getting 4 pans and 3 lids (fry pans usually don't have lids). There is a large range of pricing for cookware sets from $99 for the most basic Stainless Steel set to $600 or more for an aluminum clad set, so you can find something that fits your budget.
