A Rear Projection TV is the projection method most people are familiar with. They have been around for a long time, in fact your Uncle Vinny used to use one at his super bowl parties. A rear projection screen TV has a projector inside of a cabinet that projects onto a screen on the outside of the cabinet. One of the big advantages of a rear projection TV is the entire unit is self-contained. However this is also it's biggest disadvantage as well, as the unit is heavy and takes up a lot of room. However a rear projection TV is generally less expensive than a front projection screen TV and doesn't require a professional installation. On to Home Theatre CRT Projectors
