When your house goes on the market, it is important to prepare it to be shown. There are many things to do before prospective buyers can see you house. Although you have lived in your home for quite some time, you must view it with the eyes of a buyer. Study the house from the outside to the inside, beginning with its curb appeal. If the outside of your home is not maintained, it will send a poor message to a prospective buyer. Before your open house you should completely clean your house - even consider having it professional cleaned. Take care of any necessary repairs that will improve your chances of selling the home quickly. Before the day of the open house, limit any clutter around the home so it is shown in the best condition possible. It is usually not a good idea for the seller to be home during the open house. Prospective buyers feel more comfortable asking questions and looking around when the seller is not present.
