Most hosting packages will have a specified number of free email accounts. The number varies from one web-hosting package to another, the number is typically between 3 - 25 accounts per package. You can usually purchase additional email accounts for a nominal fee. Each email account will have a specified amount of disk space allocated to it this comes out of your total disk space, so be aware of this if you receive a lot of large files. You can set-up, change passwords, set forwarding most email controls from a browser based control panel. Many of the newer hosting packages offered have the ability to be checked with a web based browser in addition to an email client that runs on your local computer (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora).
